Where are the Azores Islands?

The Azores Islands are an archipelago of 9 islands belonging to Portugal, located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, about 1400 km west of mainland Portugal and about 900 km northwest of the island of Madeira.

The Azores Islands are an archipelago of 9 islands divided into 3 groups:

  • Eastern Group: São Miguel and Santa Maria
  • Central Group: Terceira, Graciosa, São Jorge, Pico and Faial
  • Western Group: Flores and Corvo
